Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create a GameAlign profile we store the information you enter: your gamertag, optional first name, Discord username, the games you play and your skill level in each, your platforms, playstyle, availability, region, an optional bio, and an optional profile photo. We also store the email address you sign up with and basic activity timestamps such as when you were last seen.

What is public

GameAlign is a public directory. Most of your profile — gamertag, games, playstyle, availability, bio, and region — is visible to anyone on the internet, including anonymous visitors. Your Discord username is only visible to other signed-in GameAlign users; it is hidden from anonymous visitors, search engines, and anyone who is not logged in. This is intentional: the Discord username is how other players reach you, but we keep it behind a sign-in gate so it isn't exposed to the open internet. Do not put anything on your profile you would not want publicly visible.

Your email address is never shown publicly and is used only for authentication and account-related messages.

Activity status

We record when you were last active so other players can tell who is currently around. You can hide this from your profile at any time using the "Show last seen" toggle in Edit Profile.

How we use your data

Your data is used to display your profile, power directory search and filters, and show your Looking For Group posts. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage strictly to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Deleting your profile

You can edit or clear any field on your profile at any time. To delete your profile and associated account data entirely, sign in, go to Edit Profile, scroll to the bottom, and use "Delete Profile" to permanently remove your profile, games, platforms, availability, bio, and LFG posts. If you get stuck, reach out through the Contact page.

Third parties

GameAlign is not affiliated with Discord, or with any game publisher or platform named on the site. Connecting with another player happens on Discord, under Discord's own terms and privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the date above.
